Stimulating Forms by Tijs Gilde
Counter Digital Operations
Dutch designer Tijs Gilde has been busy since he graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2015. In a world increasingly dominated by all things digital, his focus has been to create objects with striking forms and colours to strengthen our connections with the physical world.
Array, for example, is a series of toy-inspired soft shapes in cheerful colours which can be attached to each other to create imaginative seating arrangements. The Gravel series of tables and containers are created using coloured gravel set in moulds with a binding agent, resulting in highly sculptural shapes with an unexpected texture. We also like the smooth, organic forms of the Sponn light and the Tuning chair. These are products which certainly succeed in stimulating and surprising our senses.

Product Inspiration
Spice up your space with sculptural forms and bright colours, such as the Grasso armchair from BD Barcelona Design, the Bold bench from Moustache and the Mini Clay table from Desalto.
A dramatic ceiling light such as the Mini Mikado from LZF is sure to raise the spirits. The Kizu table lamp from New Works and the Lampscapes Uphill floor light from Frederik Roije are just as catchy.
For accessories with bold shapes try the Double O ice bucket from Ghidini 1961, the Wunderkammer Shell from Diesel Living and the Belle cake stand from Incipit.
