Apartment in Black by Heima
Back in Black
Vilnius based architects Heima have designed a seductively dark apartment which draws you in with its sleek details and bright jewel tones.
The architects extended the living room of this 80 square metre apartment by eliminating one of the two original bedrooms. Instead of keeping the original walls they built a diagonal partition which not only created extra wardrobe space for the bedroom on the other side but also injected a sense of dynamism to the living room.
Most of the walls and ceilings were painted in a daringly dark shade of grey, against which the rich emerald, burgundy and purple of the furniture and accent walls really pop, creating a palpable sense of theatre. The dark background and focused spotlights also serve to highlight the exquisite details, from beautifully crafted handles and cabinets to the brass tap fixtures in the bathroom. A perfect apartment for stylish bachelors.
