Collectors Refuge by mf+arquitetos
Shade Play
If light is one of the most precious gifts from nature, our ability to control light must be one of our greatest achievements. As this beautifully serene house in the Franco area of Sao Paulo shows, the interplay of light and shade can create the most stunning interiors.
Designed by local architects mf+arquitetos, the petite single-storey structure may be small in size but is definitely high on style. Natural elements are emphasised with the wooden ceilings, a stunning living green wall and extensive use of wooden lattice screens, which cleverly filters the light, creating beautiful shadows as well as providing privacy. The use of black and natural stone walls in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom provides contrast in both texture and colour and serves to highlight the natural elements. The furniture and decor follows the naturalistic theme and strike a good balance between style and comfort. This refuge is surely the perfect retreat from the rigours of urban life.

Product Inspiration
Create your own naturally stylish comfort zone with the Comfy sofa from Seletti, the Soho coffee table from Coedition and the Lasai armchair from Alki.
Create beautifully filtered light with the natural wood veneer lights of LZF, such as the Link suspension light, or the Kerflight suspension light from Graypants. Complement that with the subdued low level lighting of the Bowl table light from New Works.
For sculptural and naturalistic accessories try the Pierre coat rack from Moustache or the Sula carafes from Incipit. You can also replicate the wood panelling effect with the Scrapwood wallpaper from NLXL.
