Casa de Vidro by Cristina Menezes

How to turn a 60 square metre glass pavilion into a characterful home?  Brazilian architect Cristina Menezes shows us how with this beautiful show house in Belo Horizonte, designed to showcase Brazilian style.

She created a surprisingly warm interior space despite the cool structure of the pavilion by adding layers of textures, from the dark hardwood floor to the leather chairs and sumptuous floor-to-ceiling curtains.  The furniture combines a sleek modern edge with a natural touch and are well complemented by accessories in natural materials as well as plenty of plants, both inside and outside.  We particularly like design flourishes such as the round floor mirror by the bed and the rocky wall of the bathroom.  This is a beautifully intimate house, full of charm and personality, a great example of contemporary Brazilian design.
