COMED House by AD2 Architekten
Origami House
If architecture is about creating grand design statements, this extraordinary family house in Vienna certainly succeeds in projecting its style and personality.
Designed by architects Andrea Damon and Andreas Doser, this striking house is seemingly composed of triangular planes and facets with nary a curve in sight, as if it was the result of a giant origami exercise. The same theme continues inside, where the furniture and other fixtures were all custom-built, again in swooping planes and facets. The use of sleek materials and a monochrome colour palette adds further to the sense of drama and masculinity. We are particularly impressed by the swimming pool, which cantilevers over the garden, and the minimalist floating steel staircase.
Utterly cool and very space-age, this is a perfect house for those who love corners and can't stand curves.

Product Inspiration
Create your own super sculptural interior space with super geometric furniture, such as the Element small table from Desalto, the Luna cabinet from Coedition and the Bold bench from Moustache.
Make a design statement with the beautiful wood veneer lights of LZF, such as the Escape suspension light. The Dusk Dawn table lamp from Ghidini 1961 and the Goblet table light from Qeeboo are equally sculptural.
Sleek and minimalist accessories work fantastically well in sculptural interior spaces. Try the Moai vase from Incipit, the Darkly mirror from Menu and the Spire metal hooks from Finell.
