The Experience of Eating by Ruiqi Yang
Finger Food
The experience of eating is much influenced by our interactions with the tableware on which the food is serve, so perhaps it should come as no surprise that designers would attempt to forger deeper connections between us and our tableware.
Design-maker Ruiqi Yang explores the idea of tableware as an extension of your hand with a collection of porcelain plates which have finger caps attached to their bases. You hold the plates by inserting the correct fingers into the correct caps and there you have it, a plate stuck to your fingers. Unlikely to revolutionise the way we eat perhaps, but fun and thought provoking nevertheless.
