Toad Side Table from Philipp Beisham

A stable table needs three legs, so why not put a table top on each leg and turn a necessity into a source of enhanced functionality?  This was the inspiration behind the Toad Side Table from Frankfurt-based furniture designer Philipp Beisheim, who showcased his design at the Salone Satellite, part of the Salone del Mobile furniture fair in Milan.

The Toad Side Table is hand crafted in lacquered solid ash, the chunky table tops and tapered legs creating a distinctive mushroom-shaped profile.  The table can be assembled easily by slotting the bases into the tops, which also enables the three table tops to be articulated, adding to the playfulness of the design.  The Toad Side Table is a light-hearted and elegant addition to any living space and works especially well as a side table next to a sofa.

For an organically inspired side table try the Baobab coffee table from Moustache, which also has swivelling tops.  The Tablefields occasional table from Frederik Roije is inspired by the way fields are positioned next to each other and offers a more minimalist option for a multi-level side table.

The Lampscapes Uphill floor light from Frederik Roije takes on the shape of 3 standard lampshades fused together, in a similar spirit to the Toad side table.  The Totem suspension light from LZF combines 3 onion-shaped lights attached together to form a spectacular feature light.

The Pipework candelabra from Nick Fraser is a playful and functional take on plumbing pipes, whilst the Desktructure desk organiser from Seletti provides a fun and transformable accessory which looks great on any desk.
