Illusive Luminaire by Ying Chang in Collaboration with Federico Trucchia

During the recent London Design Festival we came across these ingenious modular light sculptures designed by Ying Chang, working in collaboration with Federico Trucchia.

The light is made from modules which can be stacked in different combinations, attached by magnetic connections with power supplied from the base.  The modules are in contrasting ornamental shapes (made possible using 3D printing technology) designed to moderate the level of illumination and to cast intricate shadows.  We love the striking form of the light and the playfulness of the design concept, a perfect marriage of light and sculpture.
