Garden Layers by Patricia Urquiola for GAN
Indian Summer
Patricia Urquiola has designed a collection of Moghul-inspired outdoor rugs and furnishings perfect for those who want to recline in style.
The Garden Layers collection comprises a series of rugs, mattresses, rolls and cushions designed to be layered upon one another with colours mixed and matched. These are hand-crafted using weather-resistant polypropylene yarns in earthy tones of terracotta, blue, green and almond, with subtle geometric patterns and decorative tassel fringes. The design is super contemporary but with a distinct Indian flavour, a happy stylistic fusion thanks to Patricia Urquiola's design sensibility and GAN's experience with traditional Indian craftsmanship.
This is a great way to create a luxuriously exotic lounge pad, perfect for the garden or terrace and just as good for a glass of prosecco as for mango lassi.

Product Inspiration
Add a new dimension to your design with interesting textures and patterns. The chunky quilted fabric of the Gentry sofa for Moroso, for example, is comfortable and stylish in equal measures. We also like the "rough but smooth" lava stone texture of the Clay table from Desalto. For the ultimate indulgence in pattern and texture, try the Triangles rug from Golran.
The Material pendant lights from New Works come in six different materials, including this cork version with its unique texture. The pleated Tyvek paper of the Vaporetto table light from Moustache makes for an unexpected but effective material choice. We also like the cool, smooth texture of concrete in this floor lamp from Lyon Beton.
The Half Coil necklace from Eleanor Bolton is a great example of how textile yarns can used to make beautiful and innovative jewellery. The Fish Design ring from Corsi is just as alluring, especially with the flexible resin made to look like ribbons. For a bit of fun for those who love fabrics, what about the Julia apron from Ugi?
