Glass is an astonishingly beautiful and versatile material, especially in the artistic hands of Angie Packer.
As part of her De Montfort University graduation project Angie created Fluidity, a collection of glass carafes, bowls and tumblers inspired by the movement of water and the beauty of Venice. The sinuous shape of the vessels and their wavy rims offer a sense of dynamic movement, whilst the blue tinted lumps protruding from their bottoms recall floating icebergs or perhaps crashing waves frozen in time. Beautifully poetic and no doubt perfect for a whiskey or two.
The Link suspension light from LZF creates a beautifully wavy effect with natural wood veneers. The Karl-Johan table lamp from New Works is gorgeously curvaceous, as is the Flying Ribbon OLED suspension light from Blackbody.
We love the bulbous shape of the Heirloom vase from Moustache and the gentle curves of the Sula carafes from Incipit. For something more indulgent try the Knotted Cherry container from Ghidini 1961.
