When Puck Dieben was a little girl she liked to build structures out of bedlinen and towels. This childhood memory inspired the designer to combine fabrics and frames to create one-of-a-kind cabinets which are playful and functional in equal measures.
Puck Dieben's Dressed Cabinets can be customised by weaving the fabric through different slots in the frame, creating dividers, shelves and covers to suit changing needs. The warmth of the fabric provides a pleasing contrast to the simple metal frame, resulting in a quirky yet surprisingly refined design.
Puck Dieben is a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven and Dressed Cabinets is part of her graduation project.
Sleek and refined furniture can be fun at the same time too. The Meduse dining table from Casamania, for example, is a subtle nod to jellyfish tentacles. We also like the rotund Chubby Chic chair from Diesel Living and the classic good looks of the Renaissance bookcase from Seletti.
The Twee T. suspension light from Casamania is elegant and playful, whilst the Maman suspension light from Seletti combines order with chaos in good humour. For an element of surprise what about the Material suspension light from New Works, available in materials such as cork and terracotta?
