Silver Lake is a highly distinctive sofa designed by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso. The design is inspired by mid-century architecture (Silver Lake is the name of a Los Angeles neighbourhood renowned for houses designed by pioneering architects of the Modernist style). A generous faceted volume forms the seat and back, whilst a ribbon-like metal band loops and folds around to form the armrest; a modern touch in contrast to the optional wooden panels at each end of the sofa. The result looks retro and contemporary at the same time, visually harmonious yet a real standout. The Silver Lake sofa makes a strong design statement in both residential and commercial spaces, from living rooms and studies to reception areas and hotel suites.
Variants
The Silver Lake sofa is available as a small settee, small two-seater sofa, larger two-seater sofa or as a large three-seater sofa. The side panels can be specified in wood (three finishes) or upholstered. The metal armrests come in four different colours. Please contact us for more information on these options.

Designer
Patricia Urquiola is one of the most influential furniture designers working today. She was born in Oviedo in Spain but now lives and works in Milan. Urquiola trained as an architect and worked with Achille Castiglioni and Piero Lissoni before starting her own studio in 2001. She has since designed numerous products for leading furniture brands including Moroso, B&B Italia, Molteni & C and Kartell. Urquiola’s designs are unconventional, emphatic and experimental; blending humanist sensibilities and technical expertise – qualities that also inform her work as an architect.
