The Hunua Rug, designed by Piero Lissoni for Golran, stems from a project which has a universal nature. Unua is in fact the first book ever written in Esperanto, a language symbolising the universal dialogue between populations, product of the cultural nomadism which enriches past traditions with new meanings. Each rug whithin the Hunua Collection combines Golran's know-how - characterised by artisanal skills and the choice of elegant materials such as silk - with the innovative and research oriented approach of Piero Lissoni. Each rug is composed by different tone-on-tone weaves which create a single composition: the visual effect is an ensemble which gives the sense of a precious and varied mosaic. The structure resembles to an elegant collage of various monochrome graphic embroideries.

Collection
The Hunua Collection is available in five colour combinations: steel (Acciaio), white (Bianco), blue (Blu), bronze (Bronzo) and red (Rosso). Each version combines the art of Nepalese handcraft and rug making with the most sophisticated of tailor-made sartorial details, illustrating how different techniques and traditions can be combined to create elaborate works of art. Each pattern is available in multiple sizes. These rugs work well in traditional and contemporary settings and are appropriate for use in private and public spaces.
Designer
Piero Lissoni is an architect, designer and Art Director. His work covers architecture, interior and product design, graphics, art direction and corporate identity, covering both private and commercial projects. Piero Lissoni is also Art Director for numerous design brands including Boffi, Living Divani and Porro, as well as designing products for international brands such as Alessi, Cassina and Flos. He has won numerous awards, including the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award and the Compasso d’Oro ADI.
