Henry Franks from Northumbria University - Do Masters

Henry Franks' Dyslexic Objects collection is a charming and thought-provoking way to educate users about dyslexia. The collection include upside-down mugs (illustrating the inversion and flipping of letters) and whale-tale-shaped coat hangers with two hooks (the hanger wasn’t paying attention when being told which way its hook was supposed to go because it was daydreaming about whales, illustrating the effects of chronic distraction as a result of its dyslexia). The Dyslexic Objects collection is a great example of Henry’s approach of engaging users of everyday objects with conceptual ideas in a humorous way. Henry is the winner of the prestigious New Designer of the Year Award at the New Designers exhibition in 2013.
