Created by Henri Lavallard Boget for Lyon Beton, the Hauteville concrete armchair draws inspiration from iconic mid-century design with a modern twist. Stripped to the bare essentials, naked concrete – a mix of sand, water and cement – paired with rebar legs evokes a rough, industrial vibe that provides bold contrast to the smooth, modern form. Despite the use of unconventional materials, the chair has an incredibly ergonomic and comfortable seat, while ultra-fine sanding gives it a smooth finish. Lyon Beton specialises in designing and manufacturing concrete furniture and accessories. Fascinated by the technical and plastic possibilities of this material, Lyon Beton worked for 5 years to develop a unique type of concrete, reinforced with metal wire and fibre, specifically for the production of furniture. Designed by Jean-Baptiste Fastrez for Moustache, the Moto Wall Light is stunning wall light inspired by motorcycle helmets. The lamp shade is in the shape of a visor, made of one-way mirror with the same iridescent finish usually applied to helmet visors and ski masks. When switched off, the lamp shade becomes semi-opaque and changes colour with different viewing angles, giving the Moto light a mysterious personality.

Born in 1984, Jean-Baptiste Fastrez lives and works in Paris. He won the 2011 Grand Prix du Jury of Design Parade 6 in Villa Noailles (Hyères, France). Since 2011, he has established his own design studio in Paris, and now counts several business partners around the world: from Danish textil manufacturer Kvadrat, the Galerie Lafayettes in Paris , Sèvres / Cité de la céramique, the glass reaserch center Cirva in Marseille, the french brand Moustache and the London and Paris based design gallery Galerie Kreo.

W / W Carafe and Glass

Benjamin Hubert designed W/W, a new series consisting of a water / wine breather carafe and one stackable wine glass. The challenge was to create a product with a visually dramatic wine breathing process to develop Menu’s portfolio of wine accessories.
Benjamin created over twenty prototypes of the W/W carafe during the design process to test the flow of wine and obtain the maximum aeration. The final ‘raining’ process is both visually arresting and, as the wine is poured from the bottle into the carafe, increases the surface area of the wine by eight times a normal pour from the bottle – thus providing 800% aeration and improving the wine’s flavor. The wine can then be easily served from the carafe, making the process simple and efficient.
The new carafe is called W/W, which stands for 'water' and 'wine', as it can be used to serve a variety of beverages. When serving water or soft drinks from the W/W carafe, the rubber seal and stainless steel breathing device prevent ice and garnishes, such as fruits and herbs, from splashing into the glass.
The W/W carafe is crafted from mouth-blown glass with an silicon seal that is friction-fitted over a stainless steel ‘breather’ component. One mouth-blown glass stacks inside the neck of the carafe for easy storage and transportation to the table. The set is ideal for water at the bedside table.
