Stitches Bamako Suspension Light

The Stitches Bamako Suspension Light is the creation of Egbert-Jan Lam of Netherlands-based Burojet Design Studio and is part of the "embroidered" Stitches family of lights. These 4 lights are called Mopti, Tombuctú, Djenné and Bamako, after towns and cities in the West African nation of Mali. Each light has its own distinct pattern. In order to make each light, veneer strips are crafted in a traditional sewing fashion: the pattern is marked out, cut and then repeated. Where hemming is normally used to complete a garment, the Stitches light has a visible hemstitch pattern, which radiates once the light is switched on.

The Scraplight Ausi Suspension Light from Graypants is a versatile and stylish lamp that provides warm, intimate and functional lighting for any occasion or type of space. At night, the corrugation in the shades creates beautiful patterns of light and shadow, transforming the surfaces of a room.
Tough and elegant, the lamp shade is made from from recycled cardboard precision cut with a laser and assembled by hand using a nontoxic adhesive. All Scraplights are treated with an environmentally friendly fire retardant. The lamps are made by the Graypants team in the Netherlands in partnership with a social works programme to provide craft-based work for those who need it most, a great example of the brand's belief in responsible design, responsible materials and responsible production.

Saturnia is a lamp family of clean, soft lines, made up of hanging lamps and designed by Basque-Swiss designer Óskar Cerezo for LZF Lamps. Its name and shape are reminiscent of Planet Saturn, the only planet whose rings can be seen from the Earth. On one side, the light passing thorough the wood sheets creates a warm ambience. On the other, the plexiglas diffusor allows for a good working light. Moreover, it incorporates state-of-the-art electronic technology that assures a minimum electrical consumption and is a perfect choice for direct as well and indirect lighting, both in private homes or contract.

Patricia Urquiola is one of the most influential furniture designers working today. She was born in Oviedo in Spain but now lives and works in Milan. Urquiola trained as an architect and worked with Achille Castiglioni and Piero Lissoni before starting her own studio in 2001.
