Foxglove Lounge Bar by NC Design and Architecture
Secret Bar Service
Devotees of spy movies (especially Kingsman) would love Foxglove, the cool new restaurant cum lounge bar designed by Hong Kong based NC Design and Architecture.
Located in the Central business district of Hong Kong, the restaurant is accessed via a corridor cunningly disguised as a gentlemen's umbrella shop complete with brass-edged display cabinets lining the walls and window displays on the street front. An umbrella with an ornately carved handle sits in an umbrella stand at the end of the corridor. Touch it and a secret door glides open, revealing the sumptuously decorated restaurant beyond. The designers took inspiration from gentlemen's clubs, ocean liners and vintage cars to create a decadently luxurious interior space as sleek as 007's tailored suit. Rich blue leather seating complement the cool grey marble bar counter top and wraparound wall and ceiling panels, with ox-red leather chairs and banquettes adding a touch of intimacy to the VIP room, which looks like a first class train carriage. There is even a VVIP room, which you access by placing your hand on a framed floral print which then glows and opens the secret door to the library style sanctuary beyond. Even the washrooms are designed to look first class cabins on a transatlantic ocean liner. This is riotously fun and stylish restaurant great for indulging any gentleman-spy's deepest fantasies.
