Casa Na Xemena, Ibiza by Ramon Esteve

Balearic Beauty

When it is dull and rainy outside, there is no better way to lift the spirits than to indulge in a spot of daydreaming about beautiful houses in the sun.  The Casa Na Xemena, perched on a cliff in Ibiza overlooking the peerlessly blue Mediterranean sea, is every contemporary design-loving sun-seeker's fantasy come true.

Designed by architect Ramon Esteve, the house is based on cubes stacked on a podium where the terrace and infinity pools are.  The cooly minimal exterior and interiors, painted in pristine white, reflect local building traditions and minimises distraction from the stunning views.  The architect even designed a custom-built range of furniture based on elementary shapes to complement the house.  Back in grey cold London, we can only wistfully imagine what it's like to watch the sunset on the terrace, preferably with a few drinks at hand.
