Masking Color Strippable Water Paint
Paint Stripping
First there were wall vinyl stickers, then came decorative masking tapes. Could Masking Color, the latest hot product from Japan, become the next interior design craze?
Masking Color is a water-based paint which, if applied to smooth surfaces such as glass, can be peeled off once it has dried, much like masking tape. The paint comes in a cleverly designed pen / bottle with an incorporated brush applicator, which makes it very easy to make fine designs and writings. Once dried and peeled off the painted design could even be re-stuck on to other smooth surfaces.
At the moment Masking Color is only available in 20 colours and in small bottles (38 and 168 ml), ideal for smaller decoration projects such as window displays for shops. But who knows where this could lead? If this could be applied on a larger scale it could revolutionalise interior decoration. A feature wall with new colours every month perhaps?
