Clean Design
Here at the Do Shop we don't offer skincare products (yet), but we were seriously tempted when we spotted these beautifully sculptural soaps by Pelle, a New York based design studio founded by Jean and Oliver Pelle.
The collection includes 7 different soaps made with vegetable glycerine and other natural ingredients such as activated charcoal, pumice and essential oils. As the name "Folly" suggests, the soaps take on simple architectural forms which, when combined with these unexpected ingredients, appear delightfully whimsical and extravagant, especially when placed together in a group. We especially like the "Sponge" soap, made by combining a natural sea sponge partially into a disc of soap; and also "Block", a monolithic slab with the incorporated charcoal and sea sponge creating a wonderful marbling effect.
The irony is that with such exquisite soaps towering majestically on your washbasin there will surely be many more dirty hands as no one would dare to use them.
