Vora Villas by K-Studio
Luxury Design Odyssey
The steep volcanic cliffs and white-washed houses of Santorini have long drawn tourists from all over the world. Design aficionados and luxury seekers now have an extra reason to visit with the opening of the Vora villas in the village of Imerovigli, perched in a commanding position with unobstructed views of the famous caldera.
Designed by Athens-based architects K-Studio, which specialises in luxury hotels, the three villas of this complex are carved into the volcanic cliffs in a Hurculean building process which took four years. The interior of the villas is in a sophisticated mix of traditional Cycladic and contemporary styles. The minimalist decor and restrained palette of beige, black and dark wood oozes contemporary luxe, whilst the cavernous rooms with their irregular shapes and round arches reflect the vernacular style. Best of all are the sun-drenched terraces with infinity spa pools, perfect for enjoying the majestic sunsets for which the island is justly famous.
Subdued and naturalistic lights would look great in spaces like the Vora Villa. We love the Scraplight Hive suspension light from Graypants, the Read Noon floor light from Zeitraum and the Chou table light from LZF.
