Living and working in the same space is a dream come true for many people, especially if the space is as attractive as this Tribeca loft designed by Desai Chia Architecture.
The client is a photographer who wishes to use the loft as a gallery to show her work and meet with clients as well as to use it as a private residential space. The architects obliged with a design which places the gallery at the heart of the loft, with the master bedroom at one end of it and the living space at the other. The different zones are unified by the use of the same wide light wood floor boards, complemented by wall panelling in the gallery area using the same wood and white walls throughout the rest of the apartment. The gentle and unobtrusive lighting helps create a sense of minimalist calm, punctuated by accents of steel and concrete grey to reflect the industrial heritage of the building. A beautiful space that is inspiring for working and relaxing for living in.
