This converted warehouse loft in Athens by Ese Studio shows how industrial style spaces can be softened with clever design touches.
The large open plan space has been divided by lattice screens, allowing light to filter through at the same time providing an element of decoration without detracting from the industrial ambience of the space. The same effect is achieved with the use of decorative tiles in the bathroom and courtyard, which has a Japanese style reflective pool. The furniture is contemporary with a soft edge, adding further to the cool yet relaxed style of the space. We particularly like the dining table with scaffolding legs and wooden top, as well as chairs from Moroso and lighting from Diesel Foscarini. Overall, the space feels comfortable despite the relatively minimalist approach to furnishing, which shows great skill and restraint from the designers.

This quirky 101 square metre apartment may look industrial with its concrete ceilings and brick walls but the design inspirations are more 1001 Arabian Nights.
