Casa Flotante by Talleresque
Tree Sanctuary
Many people would dream of a secret hideaway nestled amongst towering trees, where the bustle of city life is washed away by the incessant chirping of birds and crickets. This idyllic vision is the reality for the fortunate owner of this treehouse in the outskirts of Mexico City, designed by the architects at Talleresque.
The ground floor of this 3-storey wooden tower is designed as a multi-functional space with a sofa, desk, minimalist kitchen and a drum kit. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors offer uninterrupted access to the decked terrace, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living space. A minimalist floating staircase winds its way around the outside of the building like a ribbon, bringing you closer to nature as you climb up the tower. The first floor houses the shower and toilet whilst the bedroom is on the top floor, with light flooding in through large windows and skylights. The minimalist design of the building is softened by the use of timber in different colours and textures, which creates an interesting industrial organic vibe.
This treehouse is the perfect synthesis of man and nature, a tranquil sanctuary to get away from it all.

Product Inspiration
Create your own industrial organic look with the Rocker chair from Mater, the Monty coffee table from Dare and the Smokestack fireplace from Frederik Roije.
Go for organic inspired lighting such as the Scraplight Hive suspension light from Graypants, the Link floor light from LZF and the Cave table light from Moustache.
A good way to recreate the rustic wooden cabin look is to use photo-realistic wallpaper such as the Scrapwood designs from NLXL. The Duck pot from 101 Copenhagen and the concrete Nuclear plant holder from Lyon Beton would also look great.
