Casa VI by Alfredo Vanotti

Contemporary Mountain Lodge

Simplicity, natural materials and a neutral palette are the perfect ingredients to create a warm and serene interior, as this mountain lodge by Italian architect Alfredo Vanotti shows.

The simple block shape building opens up to reveal a large open plan space flooded with natural light, thanks to the multiple skylights over the double-height living and dining area.  Timber is used extensively throughout the space, from the floors to the ceilings, table tops and stools.  Industrial touches such as the sculptural staircase, metal table frame and use of concrete gives the space a contemporary feel.  This is a delightful mountain retreat which shows that a natural look doesn't have to be twee.
