Views to Ski For

As the weather turns cold our thoughts turn to ski.  However, we know our readers are not all powder-hounds, so for this edition of Property Watch we've picked a house with mountain views which are as spectacular in the summer are they are when covered in snow.

What the agent says:"Sunset Ridge's sense of arrival can only be described as awe-inspiring - cliff-side, on a private peninsula with a breath-taking mountainous panorama.  The residence's bold, yet simplistic, linear architecture naturally draws a first time visitor to a glass, entryway door offering a first hint of the refinement of finishes and viewscape beyond.  The owner along with the renowned Aspen architect, Bill Poss, have artfully designed a residence that not only frames the view, but seemingly integrates the mountains as an intrinsic element to the structure."

What we love:
We love the way every aspect of the sculpturally shaped house is designed to capture the stunning mountain views, from the vast expanse of glass walls to the jagged roofline which mirrors the shape of the mountains.  Above all, we love the splendidly isolated location of the house and the captivating views it commands.

What can be improved:
Words fail us - this place is pretty difficult to fault.

Terrazzo Things from Lick My Brick

There was a time when the use of marble was largely restricted to floors, posh kitchen counters and grave statutes. And then, at some point around the mid-noughties, marble was everywhere. Could the same be happening to terrazzo?
