Patch of Sky by Fabrica

Weather With You

Here in the UK we are known for our obsession with the weather.  Now, thanks to this fascinating design concept from Fabrica, you can finally share this passion with your loved ones.

Patch of Sky is a set of 3 internet-enabled ambient lights which change colours depending on the weather.  The lights are connected to your facebook account, which enables them to work out your location and gather weather information accordingly.  Weather phenomena are classified into 11 common conditions, each with its corresponding colour-coded animation.  "Storm" is dark blueish-grey with flashes of white, "hot" is pulsating red and so on.  All you need to do is to give the lights to your friends in far-flung places and you will be able to share your weather with them.  Trouble is, if you live in London, all your friends can see is grey for drizzle.
