Designed by Benjamin Graindorge for Moustache, the Heirloom Vase 1 is made of glazed ceramic with a slender base gently ballooning to a half-enclosed top which envelopes the flowers. Benjamin Graindorge, who has lived and worked in Japan, took his inspirations from the ancient Japanese tradition of flower arrangement (Ikebana, or the way of the flower), which sees the vase as a fundamental part of the overall composition. His contemporary interpretation results in a vessel that not only frames any flower arrangement beautifully but is also playful and elegant on its own.
The Heirloom collection is a serie of vases with tops that loop over the flowers to frame them. The Heirloom vases are made of ceramic in three designs: a small version with one half enclosed like a hood and two larger ones with four or eight ribs
