Scott Pirie’s Fio Ceiling Light came from his experiments of blown glass within restrictive wire structures as a way to express the ideas of entrapment, restriction and constraint. The result is a captivating light which combines the industrial aesthetic of the metal structure and exposed cables with the organic form of the glass beautifully. The light is designed to be modular with individual wire framed glass components that can be combined in different structures to suit different requirements. They can also be used individually as supporting pendant lights or as table lights and wall mounted lights.
The lights are custom-made with possibilities for different number of components and compositions. The price for each component is £210 (including VAT). Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Scott is a glass and lighting designer who recently graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art, where he studied Glass. His interests lay formerly in sculpture, followed by a short stint studying costume design. He is now focused on exploring the possibilities for glass within the lighting industry and is currently designing a range of component based modular lighting solutions.
