The Echasse Vase Smoked Glass, designed by Dubokk for Menu, combines the classic elegance of a traditional glass vase with a playful, light expression. The word "échasse" is French for stilts: This round-bottomed vase is anchored to the table by four slender legs that resemble stilts. The vase takes inspiration from test tubes in laboratories, and like the original "échasse", the reinvented Echasse has a classic drop-like shape, made of coloured glass which gives the vase its unique expression. Due to its large dimensions, the Echasse is ideal on the floor.
Dubokk is a Copenhagen-based creative studio which designs furniture, objects and everything in between. With their educational background Founders and Designers Aleksandar Lazic and Bjarti Á Steig both have a natural curiosity about how objects interact with humans on both a practical and emotional level. Good design must appeal to the simplest of desires and must be in tune with the perception of beauty, aesthetics and functionality. Their intent is to create meaningful objects that will influence homes and inspire minds.
