The Sella Armchair, designed by Carlo De Carli for Tacchini, is a re-issue of an iconic 1966 design. Sella is made using the very finest materials: exposed natural walnut, elegant chromed metal details and belts for the support of the backrest in refined natural leather. The cushions are filled with feathers with the covers upholstered in leather, fabric or velvet. With its soft and generous lines Sella is designed to offer maximum comfort and relax. The Sella Armchair is ideal both for private use and in commercial spaces, for example in living and and other lounging rooms, receptions and bedrooms.

Carlo de Carli was an Italian modernist designer, architect, essayist, and academic. He worked at the studio of Gio Ponti and subsequently opening a studio with Renato Angeli. In addition to architectural projects, De Carli was a prolific furniture designer who worked with the leading design companies including Cassina, Tecno and Gubi. In 1954, de Carli won the Compasso d’Oro, the highest industrial design honor in Italy, for his design of the Model 683 chair for Cassina, and in 1957 he was awarded the Triennale Grand Prix for his design of the Balestra arm chair for Tecno. From 1965 to 1968, he was Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Politecnico di Milan, where he taught until 1986.
