Designed by Jean-Baptiste Fastrez for Moustache, the Allpa Vase is part of a collection of 3 vases (Allpa, Pacha and Qucha). These vases are all based on the same concept: they each have an identical large central vase, with smaller vases attached onto it in 3 different ways, thus creating very different personalities. Each model is like a bouquet of flowers; seven connected vases shaped into a “vase bouquet” that is ready to hold a unique and extravagant flower composition.
The names Allpa, Qucha, and Pacha come from Inca mythology. They are the names of three goddesses: the goddess of fertility, with multiple breasts; the goddess of sowing and reaping; and the sea goddess, known as the “mother of the sea”.
Jean-Baptiste Fastrez is born in 1984 and lives and works in Paris, where since 2011 he has established his own design studio. He collaborates with several design companies and institutions such as the Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat, Galerie Lafayettes in Paris, Sèvres / Cité de la céramique, the glass research center Cirva in Marseille, the french brand Moustache and the London and Paris based design gallery Galerie Kreo. Some of his works are also included of the permanent collection of the Villa Noailles in Hyeres, the Cnap and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Moustache is a French design brand that brings together like-minded designers such as Francois Azambourg, Big Game and Matali Crasset to create furniture, lighting and interior accessories that are quirky and delightful in equal measures.
