A Ceramic Journey

Sculptural Ceramics by Olivia CognetOlivia Cognet's ceramic creations are a reflection of her diverse influences, from her childhood in the Cote d'Azur - the playground of artists past and present - to her career as an accessories designer for luxury fashion brands. It was a stint in Los Angeles, famed for its juxtaposition of rugged nature and Brutalist architecture, where she discovered the magic of clay; and it was back in Vallauris, in the heart of Cote d'Azur, where she established her ceramics studio.

Cagnet's works range from bas-relief wall panels, which resemble 3D realisations of Picasso's cubist paintings, to lights, vases, furniture and decorative totems. These evocative creations, characterised by the interplay of abstract organic forms, have a graphic, architectural quality whilst exuding femininity. This is an inspiring journey by a highly accomplished artist, and we are all too happy to tag along.
